Delegation led by Somalia’s federal government President Dr Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Asmara, capital city of Eritrea today 25 December 2024. He went there for a working trip.
Isaias Afwerki, Eritrean president welcomed the delegation at Asmara International Airport where the two president shook hands.
The two presidents said will discuss several issues mainly heightening the ties between the two countries, working on security of the two countries and the region, and addressing regional and international matters for mutual interests.
This visit is Mohamud’s first to Eritrea since a trilateral summit in October 2024 with Egypt and Eritrea, where the nations agreed to bolster Somalia’s border security, an arrangement some analysts have called an “axis against Ethiopia.”
